Special Event Permits

This online application process will guide you through the planning and permitting requirements that need to be met to ensure a safe and successful event held on public property.

With this online system, you can apply for two (2) different types of permits:

    1.  A Use of Public Places Permit (UOPP) for special events on public property

A UOPP is required for events that have any of the following components:

    • Sell/Serve alcohol to the public (additional Liquor Special Event Permit also required)
    • Street, Right-of-Way or Greenway closure
    • Set up tents or other components larger than 12' x 12'
    • Public invited and charging admission
    • High risk activities (i.e. climbing wall, snowboard ramp, flame/fire)
    • Amplified sound with greater output than 80 decibels and audible more than 25 feet from the source
    • Sales of goods or services

    2.  An Alcohol Permit (AOPP) ONLY for PRIVATE events on public property

Depending on the details of your event, you will be interacting with several different City divisions to obtain the required permits and approvals. It is the event organizer's responsibility to respond to all requests as quickly as possible. All communication with you about your event will be handled in this system so please watch your email for alerts and log back in to this system frequently.

To submit a permit application, you will need to create an account.

If you don't have an account, create one now.

For questions or help, please call the City Clerk's Office at (303) 651-8649.

Any person or group not abiding by the permitting requirements may be subject to consequences of the City's Standards of Behavior up to and including expulsion from City property and/or fines and punishment under the Longmont Municipal Code.
